Alex Harris is a trial lawyer who handles a diverse array of high-stakes litigation matters, including mass tort, trade secrets, defamation, consumer protection, and complex commercial disputes in state and federal courts across the country. He also advises public figures on sensitive matters, from authors to professional gamers.

In recent years, Alex has served as trial counsel in a trade secret jury trial for Hewlett Packard Enterprise related to automated testing software, a bench trial involving equitable claims for unjust enrichment and quantum meruit brought by the founder of a group of privately held oil and gas companies, jury and bench trials for Walgreens as part of nationwide litigation related to prescription opioid medications, and in a consumer protection action for the State of Nebraska against TikTok.

Alex has also handled multiple pro bono matters, including successfully representing an asylum seeker fleeing persecution and death threats by a Central American drug cartel.

Alex graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was a recipient of the Sears Prize and served as Supreme Court Chair of the Harvard Law Review. After law school, Alex clerked for Justice Anthony M. Kennedy of the U.S. Supreme Court and the Honorable Neil M. Gorsuch of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

Nebraska v. TikTok (District Court of Lancaster County, Nebraska)
Trial counsel for Plaintiff State of Nebraska, ex rel. Michael T. Hilgers, Attorney General, against TikTok and ByteDance Defendants, seeking declaratory relief, injunctive relief and statutory penalties for Defendants’ false marketing and promotion of the TikTok app as safe and otherwise appropriate for Nebraska minors as young as 12 years old.

Opioids Litigation
National trial counsel for Walgreens in nationwide litigation relating to the distribution and sale of prescription opioid medications, including more than 2,500 cases brought by states, cities, counties, tribes, and private parties seeking recovery in connection with the opioid abuse crisis. MDL in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and a large number of related cases in federal and state courts.

Grynberg v. Grynberg (District Court of Arapahoe County, Colorado)
Trial counsel for defendants in state court bench trial involving equitable claims for unjust enrichment and quantum meruit brought by founder of a group of privately held oil and gas companies, including claims for compensation for services and assets provided to the companies. Plaintiffs sought $400 million in compensation at trial. Won a complete defense verdict, which the Colorado Court of Appeals affirmed in its entirety.

PRO BONO Matters

Confidential Immigration Court Proceeding (Aurora, CO)
Represented asylum seeker fleeing persecution and death threats by a Central American drug cartel. Secured asylum for client on all grounds asserted, over U.S. Department of Justice opposition, after a day-long trial in immigration court.
