Eric Dement

Eric is a litigator with a broad range of experience in high-stakes, bet-the-company litigation matters. Known for his clear writing, Eric has briefed and argued motions in courts and arbitrations across the country, including arguing an appeal before the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.

Before joining Bartlit Beck, Eric clerked for Judge Daniel Bress on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Judge John Cronan on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Outside of work, Eric enjoys spending time with his wife and three children and teaching a Sunday school class at his church.

National and trial counsel for Light & Wonder, Inc. and its affiliates in claims regarding social casino games in various states.  

Opioids Litigation
National and trial counsel for Walgreens in nationwide litigation involving the distribution and sale of prescription opioid medications, including more than 2,500 cases brought by states, cities, counties, tribes, and private parties seeking recovery in connection with the opioid abuse crisis. 

• Trial counsel in action brought by the Michigan Attorney General seeking over $20 billion. Case favorably settled on the eve of trial.

Circle Internet Financial Limited
Counsel for Circle Internet in breach-of-contract action brought by former financial advisor. Case pending. 

In re Google Play Store Antitrust Litigation
Appellate counsel for consumer class who used the Google Play Store to buy apps or Google Play Billing to buy in-app digital content on Android devices. Defended class certification in Rule 23(f) appeal. Case remanded before oral argument.
