Ravi Shah represents clients in high-stakes litigation across a broad spectrum of industries and subject matters. He was recently an instrumental part of the team that won a patent infringement case for Northwestern University against Universal Robots.
Prior to joining Bartlit Beck, Ravi worked at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP and was a consultant at Simon-Kucher & Partners. He previously served as a clerk to the Honorable Rosemary S. Pooler of the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and to the Honorable Margo K. Brodie of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
Ravi is a graduate of Harvard University and Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Columbia Review.
Representative Matters
Northwestern University v. Universal Robots et al. (D. Del.)
Trial counsel for Northwestern University in a patent infringement case against Universal Robots, a manufacturer of collaborative robots that were invented by Drs. Michael A. Peshkin and J. Edward Colgate at Northwestern University. After a four-day trial, the jury returned a verdict finding that Universal Robots infringed Northwestern’s patents and that Universal Robots failed to prove that the patents were invalid. The victory was recognized by Bloomberg, Law 360, and AmLaw.
Viasat, Inc. v. Western Digital Corporation, et al.; Viasat, Inc. v. Kioxia Corporation, et al. (W.D. Tex.)
Trial counsel for Viasat in patent infringement actions regarding forward error correction technology in NAND flash memory. Forward error correction can significantly improve the reliability and lifespan of NAND flash memory products, which are notoriously error prone. Cases are currently pending.
